FY2025 Independent Artist Grant Award Guidelines
For activities occurring May 1, 2025 – August 31, 2025
Application Deadline: April 1, 2025 at 11:59pm

All applicants are encouraged to attend a GCAC grant-writing workshop prior to application submission.

FY25 Grant-writing workshops (in-person/Zoom hybrid) are scheduled for Thursday, March 20, 2025:

Program/Project Grant Applicants: 10am-11am
Independent Artist Applicants: 11am-12pm
GCPS Arts in Education Applicants: 4pm-5pm

If you would like GCAC staff to review your grant application prior to submission, you must submit it as a Word document attachment to info@garrettarts.org by March 25 at 5pm EST. Individual appointments will be scheduled between 10am-5pm on March 27 and 28, 2025.

  • How is your program/project funding request consistent with the vision of the Garrett County Arts Council (GCAC) to have a vibrant and sustainable arts community for artists, their audiences, and the community at large?
  • Please provide a short biography or artist statement.
  • The below statement should convey information that further informs any additional processes, inspiration, intention, philosophy, evolution of style, and current direction of the artist’s work that is being submitted for review.
  • Please select the focus area(s) that your artistic work addresses.
  • Please provide a short synopsis of your Project Proposal and what the funding would be used for during the award period. Include estimated expenditures in this section.
  • This statement would convey to the panel the milestones you have placed on yourself as well as a project timeline with the active grant period.
  • Max. file size: 50 MB.
    Please upload the proposed specific individual artist grant budget. Financial information should be clearly tied to the proposed arts activity(ies) and indicate realistic expenses. Be sure to indicate the amount and source of any matching funds obtained to support your program or project. (Please upload a PDF - 64MB max.)
  • Identify the goals and success indicators of this project that will guide your self evaluation process at the conclusion of activities funded. This statement would convey to the panel how you personally measure growth within your practice and what outcomes qualify as a "success."
  • Describe the scope of this project's impact within the local community and the specific community group(s) within the region that will be engaged by these activities.

  • Please note that the maximum grant request for a FY25 GCAC Independent Artist Grant is $2000.
