William “Bill” Hentosh Artist Scholarship

The Scholarship

GCAC Board Member and local photographer William “Bill” Hentosh has established an annual scholarship to benefit Garrett County high school students.  This will award $250 each to a graduating Northern and Southern High School senior who is looking to continue their education in the arts.

Eligible Applicants must be accepted at a two-year or four-year institution of higher education or an established art institute.  The student must intend to pursue a major in an arts discipline (visual art, music, dance, theatre, literary arts or culinary arts).

The recipient(s) must have an overall grade point average of at least 3.0

Each application must be submitted with the application below and an arts teacher’s letter of recommendation and a written essay by the student.  The topic for the essay is “If I am awarded this scholarship I plan to…”

About William “Bill” Hentosh

A resident of Garrett County since 2012, William “Bill” Hentosh retired from service to Mineral County, WV, where he was the Emergency Management and 911 Director. His interest in the arts has been with landscape and nature photography for more than 40 years. His other interests are hiking and gardening.
