$MART ART

First Friday

6 PM – 8PM

$MART ART Workspace

Our First Friday series takes place on the First Friday of each month, and is free to attend.  We tailor these activities to adults of all skill levels and art experience.  They are made to be accessible for our community so that everyone can try something new or learn a new technique.  They will vary each month but are generally based around a theme.  Sometimes we even bring in an artist from our community to lead!

1:00 PM

$MART ART Workspace: 108 S. 2nd Street

Join us Tuesday September 17th at 1:00 PM for an inspiring artist talk and demo with Anna Martin, a dynamic expressionist painter whose work is deeply influenced by her multicultural background and passion for music.
Born in London with Spanish and Irish roots, Anna’s journey in art began at the Chelsea School of Art and later flourished at Parsons School of Design in New York. She has since worked in the Dominican Republic, Turkey, Spain, and Greece. Now she is visiting Western Maryland and West Virginia to draw her inspiration from our local landscape.
Her vibrant, semi-abstract paintings transform the world into dazzling displays of color and rhythm, guided by her background in communication design, performance coaching, and her love for the piano.
Anna’s unique approach combines mindfulness with creativity, making her art a powerful tool for emotional expression and transformation. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience Anna’s captivating perspective on art and creativity.
This event is free to attend for all community artists & art appreciators!

Interested in teaching a $MART Art Workshop?

We are seeking artists to teach workshops on a wide range of topics and subjects in our $MART Art Space.

  • Subjects that are approachable to all skill levels.
  • Inclusive to a wide range of ages!
  • Affordable projects that do not require investment in expensive materials or tools, or utilizes the tools available in our $MART Art Space.

Artists will be paid for their time, and asked to assist with spreading the word.  We will set the ticket price to cover materials costs, so there will be a minimum enrollment required to hold the class.  If you would like to team up with another artist to offer a duo workshop, we can work with that too!
