The Gallery Shop

The Gallery Shop is a retail storefront in the heart of the Oakland Arts & Entertainment District providing a venue for local visual artists to show and sell their artwork. Since 2016, the Garrett County Arts Council has juried in and accepted works from over 450 local artists. We currently have artwork regularly on display from over 100 artisans.

In 2021, we began expanding opportunities for artists, artisans, rural entrepreneurs, community members, and students to come together to participate in activities, lectures and socialization through Artists’ Third Thursdays. In 2024 we branched out to First Friday Arts events. Monthly special exhibitions with lectures, workshops and demonstrations, and entertainment are scheduled throughout the year.

Independent Artist Application for The Gallery Shop

5The Gallery Shop jury meets and reviews applications for new artists 3 times a year: January, May, and September. You can view and print the guidelines and a copy of the application to prepare.

Deadline for Jurying: January 21, 2025
Deadline for Jurying: May 19, 2025

When you’re ready to apply simply submit the form below.

Your submission once received will be included in the next jury, and you will be contacted with results soon after. Jury feedback can take 2-3 weeks after the deadline based on number of submissions recieved.
